The Battle Arcade is a community project that inspires young people to get into design and technology by building something real together, a community arcade built entirely by them, the goal is to develop a business that can bring an empty space in the town centre back to life

Young makers design and fabricate their own arcade machines from reclaimed and waste materials, combining metalwork, woodwork, 3D printing, and electronics.

We designed and developed a basketball machine that is built from up-cycled materials, powered by a salvaged computer PSU and run on microcontrollers, with QR-code scanner, real-time shot tracking, and a live leaderboard.

Every machine in the arcade connects to a shared platform where players have a digital wallet and custom 3D avatar so you can battle against your friends.

Credits and progress carry across the arcade. Alongside it we've built a reaction-time game and are developing electricity-generating bikes that reward players with credits for the power they pedal.
